Youth Choir

Youth Choir - 14-18
Conducted by Ronald Corp
Accompanist - Alexander Wells

Rehearses on Sunday afternoons after Senior Choir rehearsal.
A smaller SATB chamber choir, the Youth choir is an addition to the Senior Choir for older girls, or the close-harmony Barbers for boys whose voices have changed. It gives an opportunity to sing a more traditional repertoire of choral music. The atmosphere is relaxed - the pace is challenging - the aim is for excellence.

A superb way to improve sight-reading skills, many members of Youth Choir have continued on to Oxbridge Choral Scholarships.

The choir gives regular concerts as well as taking part in the annual Christmas concert given by the entire choir membership.

Recent repertoire has included:

  • Faure’s Cantique de Jean Racine
  • Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas - semi staged public performance
  • Vaughan Williams’ Sea Shanties
  • Mozart’s Mass in G
  • Gilbert & Sullivan’s Trial by Jury - semi-staged public performance
  • Handel’s Messiah
  • Flanders & Horowitz Captain Noah and his floating zoo.
  • Madrigals
    • Rehearsals - Sunday 5.15 - 6.00 pm
